02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Happiness Comes First is a charity established to support people experiencing disadvantage, financial hardship, social isolation and barriers to wellbeing. We improve physical, mental and social wellbeing by providing accessible community support, fitness and wellbeing sessions, family activities, cultural and creative activities, community events and opportunities for social connection. We support families, women, children and young people, minority ethnic communities, migrants and other people experiencing disadvantage or isolation. We work with volunteers, community organisations and local partners to reduce isolation, improve confidence and wellbeing, encourage healthy lifestyles and strengthen community connections.

Constitutional objectives
The organisation's purposes are: (a) The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage via the distribution of relief packages. through the offer of companionship and assistance with social activities. through the provision of emergency funds and. through the delivery of group activities aimed at reducing loneliness and isolation and the promotion of developing social connections. (b) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended, thus enhancing the physical, mental and social wellbeing of community members. This will be through the provision of monthly events, dance and fitness sessions, art and creativity workshops and youth sports activities.
