Purposes 4 The organisation’s purposes are: (a) The advancement of the performing arts, in particular music, by promoting education, participation and interest in the playing of traditional music on the flute and whistle family of instruments in Scottish contexts, including an awareness and understanding of its history and relationships to other traditions. (b) The advancement of education through the teaching of performance, repertoire and musicological context of the flute and whistle in Scottish music. (c) The advancement of heritage through the promotion of Scotland’s traditional music. (d) The advancement of culture through the performance and teaching of Scottish music and related activities.
