4.1. the advancement of community development, including rural regeneration within the Cowal area (“the Operating Area”). 4.2. the advancement of education, including all forms of training for work and life skills, within the Operating Area. 4.3. the provision of recreational facilities, and the organisation of recreational activities, which will be available to members of the community of the Operating Area, and the public at large, with the object of improving their conditions of life. 4.4. the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, within the Operating Area. 4.5. the advancement of environmental protection or improvement including (i) preservation, sustainable development and conservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance within the Operating Area and (ii) protection and enhancement of the natural environment and biodiversity. 4.6. the advancement of the arts, culture and heritage. and 4.7. the prevention or relief of poverty.
