Constitutional objectives

1 The organisation’s purposes are: 2 (a) To save lives and promote safety at sea by providing a voluntary inshore rescue boat service operating primarily within Fleet Bay and Wigtown Bay and adjacent coastal waters. (b) To provide rapid response to persons or vessels in difficulty on or near the water, in cooperation with HM Coastguard and other emergency services. (c) To maintain, equip, and operate rescue vessels, associated equipment, and facilities necessary to deliver a professional and effective rescue service. (d) To collaborate with statutory agencies, other lifeboat services, and voluntary organisations to enhance maritime safety.
