Constitutional objectives

The organisation's purposes are: The advancement of education, heritage and culture, and the promotion of equality and diversity by exploring and addressing Scotland's legacies of empire, slavery, colonialism and migration. Through connecting people to these shared histories, we aim to build a platform from which to imagine, name and resource a more equitable and collectively owned future. In particular, we will: a) create an open, inclusive and interactive space and education resource dedicated to collecting, recording and exploring the myriad of ways Scotland was involved in Empire, transatlantic slavery and processes of colonialism, and share these stories with the wider public. b) educate the public on the impacts of such processes on Scottish contemporary society by providing access to information and archive material. enhancing people's sense of place and heritage. and fleshing out a richer understanding of Scottish history, and promoting equality and racial harmony.
