02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
It is an umbrella body to help and support Scottish voluntary music promotors to continue to provide live classical music in all areas of Scotland. We facilitate networking between individual music clubs to assist the planning of tours by musicians, knowledge about musicians, knowledge about education and outreach and other relevant topics. We do this by on-line and face to face meetings with members and e mailing.

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of SCOMS is to enrich the cultural life of Scotland by supporting the provision of live classical music across the nation. This will be achieved, inter alia, by encouraging collaboration and support among music societies and by advocating for the importance of live classical music in the community and in educational settings.
