Constitutional objectives

5 Pachedu is Shona dialect meaning 'self-representation', which is at the heart of the Company's ethos, the Company aims to develop a more inclusive society and advance equality of opportunity for marginalised ethnic minority communities. In particular, the objects of the Company are: 5.1 The advancement of citizenship and community development, delivering activities to enhance integration and promote community cohesion and also to empower communities to take a pro-active role in society whilst assisting in removing barriers. Also, through creating an active link with policy makers to create areas of support in relation to training, cultural heritage, health, education, to improve wellbeing of these communities. 5.2 To advance health, both mental and physical, by delivering culturally sensitive support, and raising awareness through education and preventative initiatives, helping people to maintain or improve their health. 5.3 To promote equality and diversity through equality of opportunity and activities that enhance the capacity of ethnic minority communities and celebrate diversity within a multicultural Scotland. Also, through capacity building and support as a means of tackling isolation, promoting integration and active citizenship fostering positive relationships, promoting mutual understanding and enhancing community cohesion. 5.4 To provide recreational activities for the Community providing a safe space to engage and participate in intergenerational activities designed to improve health and wellbeing.
