Constitutional objectives

3.1 The purposes of the SCIO are:- 3.1.1 to advance education and to promote the effectiveness or efficiency of charities through the provision of mentoring and training to those who serve in leadership capacities in the charity sector, and in particular, but without prejudice to the generality, through the following activities: (a) supporting the leaders of UK-based charities and not-for-profit organisations through free mentoring by connecting them with experienced senior businesspeople, and thereby empowering charity leaders to enhance their personal effectiveness ultimately to strengthen the charity sector. (b) offering free and confidential mentoring for as long as required by senior executives with expertise in diverse sectors, aimed at developing the leadership skills and resilience of charity leaders. (c) promoting best practices by facilitating the exchange of insights, strategies, and best practices between mentors and mentees, strengthening the overall capacity of the UK charitable sector. (d) supporting sustainable leadership by empowering charity leaders to address organisational challenges, enhance impact, and foster long-term sustainability for their organisations. and 3.1.2 to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit.
