02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We aim to advance, improve, develop and maintain public education in, and appreciation of, the art and science of music in all aspects by any means the board see fit, including the presentation of public concerts and recitals. The main focus of the organisation is the promotion of classical music concerts and the encouragement of young professionally-trained musicians. We also arrange and promote some concerts of Jazz and world music We also aim to work with schools in the Falkirk area so that we can arrange for the musicians who perform for our concerts to carry out educational sessions in Schools. We aim to make classical music accessible to as wide an audience as possible in the Falkirk area. We occasionally commission the composition of new pieces of music to be performed in our concerts.
