The SCIO's purposes are to benefit principally the community of Kirriemuir, which comprises the community council areas of Kirriemuir, Kirriemuir Landward West & Kirriemuir Landward East ('the Community') with the following objectives: 1 To promote Kirriemuir, its Community and its heritage. 2 The advancement of community development (including the advancement of urban & rural regeneration) principally within the Community. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development.
