Constitutional objectives
The organisation’s purposes are: The principal purpose of the Portlethen Jubilee Hall [SCIO] is to assist in the development of the local community through the provision of a facility with the objective of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facility is primarily intended. The hall will provide a safe, warm space where all members of the local community can participate in the following: 1) Social & Cultural Events a) Host birthdays, weddings and cultural celebrations b) Support local talent with concerts, theatre and art shows c) Encourage inclusivity multicultural and inter-generational gatherings (Fine Piece Café, Lunch Club) d) Fund Raisers (Bingo, Car Boot Sales) 2) Educational & Recreational Programmes a) Classes and Workshops (art, cooking, language, fitness, yoga) b) Before and After-School programmes for children (Mainly Music, Brownies, Girl Guides) 3) Civic & Community Meetings a) Local government or townhall meetings b) Voting Station during elections c) Community Association or neighbourhood watch gatherings 4) Support Services a) Food banks, donation centres b) Mental Health or wellness support groups c) Space for non-profits or social service organisations. (Children in Need) 5) Emergency Shelter or Relief Hub In times of crisis (e.g. natural disaster or severe weather) the hall can be used as a: i. Shelter (Portlethen Primary School Emergency Gathering Point) ii. Information Centre iii. Distribution hub for aid Our Community Hall adapts to the needs of our local population – acting as the heart of the neighbourhood
