(a)promoting and undertaking research into and study of the monitoring, management and preservation of the inland and coastal fisheries resources in the North-West of Scotland and in particular within the area of the North West District Salmon Fishery Board (under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003.(b)advancing the education of the public by raising their awareness and understanding of the importance of fisheries resources and their conservation and specifically to publish and publicise the WSFT's activities and findings for the benefit of educational research and in order to increase the awareness of the importance of fisheries resources and environmental conservation.
