4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 To increase understanding, appreciation and conservation of Greyfriars Kirkyard, a historic burial ground in Edinburgh. In furtherance of this the organisation will support, encourage, undertake and participate in efforts : 4.2 to better understand the history, architecture, social importance and environment of Greyfriars Kirkyard 4.3 to increase public awareness, understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of the history, architecture, social importance and environment of Greyfriars Kirkyard 4.4 to better maintain, protect, preserve, conserve and restore the historic fabric, architecture and environment of Greyfriars Kirkyard 4.5 to increase public, community, Council, Government and other stakeholders support for better maintenance, protection, preservation, conservation and restoration of the historic fabric, architecture and environment of Greyfriars Kirkyard 4.6 by other organisations to achieve similar purposes at other historic burial grounds 4.7 in efforts to raise funds to be used towards the achievement of the purposes set out in clauses 4.1 to 4.6
