Constitutional objectives

The objects of the Eday Community Association SCIO shall be: i) The advancement of arts, heritage and culture on Eday through the organising of local events, creating activities for islanders and members of the public to attend, ensuing the continuation of local customs and traditions, including arranging and hosting events such as the Harvest Home, with traditional Orcadian music, food and dancing. ii) The provision and organisation of recreational facilities on Eday by managing a community venue with amenities, facilities and accommodation for use by the public, and assistance in the delivery of activities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, or other leisure-time occupation so that the conditions of life of Eday residents may be improved. iii) The advancement of citizenship and community development through encouraging people to take up pursuits beneficial to their wellbeing and reducing social exclusion and assisting people to live better, safer, more fulfilled lives, by encouraging social inclusion and activities.
