Constitutional objectives

The SCIO’s purposes are charitable within the meaning of section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and are: 4.1 To advance health by providing support, information, and activities that promote mental health, emotional wellbeing, and recovery for individuals experiencing mental ill health in Scotland. 4.2 To relieve those in need by reason of ill health, trauma, bereavement, emotional distress, or financial hardship through the provision of practical, emotional, therapeutic, and supportive services in Scotland. 4.3 To provide financial relief by making grants or payments towards hospital-related costs, treatment expenses, and associated support costs for individuals in Scotland unable to meet such costs due to financial hardship. 4.4 To carry out any other activities which further the above purposes or are incidental or conducive to the advancement of these charitable purposes in Scotland.
