Constitutional objectives

4. The Organisation has been formed to promote the benefit to the community of adult and youth participants in, and supporters of, sporting activity in Highland Perthshire (the 'Community'), with the following purposes (the 'Purposes'): 4.1 The advancement of public participation in sport: through: a) Participation in the sport of rugby union and associated sporting activities, hereinafter referred to as the “sport”. b) The organisation, management, and development of the sport in Highland Perthshire for all sections of the community including men, women and children c) In circumstances where financial constraints prevent participants from travelling to the club, the coaching and equipment will be taken to the rural areas affected. d) Membership of appropriate amateur leagues for the purpose of establishing regular competitive play for the Club’s representative teams. e) Promoting and maintaining the highest standards of technical competence and safety in the sport. 4.2 The advancement of citizenship or community development by: a) Promoting and fostering sportsmanship, respect, fairness, self-confidence, friendship and fun. b) Providing equal opportunities for participation in the Club’s activities for all sections of the Community, including school-age children and vulnerable children and adults. c) Teaching and upholding the rules, regulations and values of sport. d) Offering non-playing membership of the Club to members of the Community who wish to promote the benefits of participation in sporting activities in Aberfeldy, the surrounding districts and at schools. Thereby fostering a spirit of community cohesion in a rural setting. 4.3 The advancement of health through the involvement of adults and young people in sporting activities by: a) The provision of training, coaching and playing facilities for the Club’s Playing Members and any other member of the community who may derive physical, social and mental wellbeing through participation in the Club’s activities. b) The encouragement of participation in sport at primary and secondary schools through the deployment of appropriately trained staff and/or volunteers across the network of local schools. c) Organising and running rugby and multisport camps for children during school holidays.
