Constitutional objectives
The objects of the CIO are 3.1 the promotion of the efficiency of the police by, but not limited to, providing and facilitating the giving of information, advice, and training to Special Constables. and 3.2 the advancement of citizenship and community development through the promotion of volunteering and public participation in the prevention and solution of crime for the benefit of the public in England, Scotland and Wales, the Isle of Man, Guernsey and any other British Overseas Territory or Crown dependency who may, from time to time, employ Special Constables ('Objects'). Nothing in this constitution shall authorise an application of the property of the CIO for the purposes which are not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and section 2 of the Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008.
