Constitutional objectives

The Club will operate as a non-profit Charity for the advancement of public participation in sport, and will: a) advance, promote and encourage public participation in the sport of bowls for the benefit and wellbeing of members and the local community b) provide recreational facilities and organise recreational activities for members of the public at large, with the object of improving conditions of life and in furtherance of the Charitable Purpose, the Club will: o fulfil the functions of a bowling Club and undertake to establish or support other local projects with wholly charitable purposes, for the benefit of the community and to encourage social interaction and leisure time activity o provide coaching in bowls for beginners and experienced players with the objective of improving quality of life and enhancing player ability and self-confidence o offer ‘taster’ sessions and provide the appropriate accessories, equipment and coaching at no cost for newcomers to the sport and interested members of the general public o maintain the playing surfaces, buildings and associated infrastructure and equipment to the highest practicable standards for the benefit of the members and visiting public o affiliate with appropriate regional and national organisations and organise games and competitions on behalf of members, visiting bowlers and bowling clubs o promote and abide by the rules of ‘Bowls Scotland’ o provide facilities that strengthen the club’s social environment, enhance community engagement and enables the charity to fulfil its charitable purpose of advancing the participation in sport
