Constitutional objectives

The SRCA’s Purpose is: The advancement of education by: o working towards the prevention and eradication of sexual violence by enabling member centres to work collaboratively to strengthen their shared influence and impact. o promoting understanding of the root causes, drivers and impact of rape and sexual violence as a means to prevent and end such violence. In furtherance of these purposes, we aim to: 4.1 Take a whole-picture approach to preventing sexual violence that takes account the ways in which individuals, relationships, communities, and wider society all play a role. 4.2 Work towards ending male violence against women and girls by eliminating structural and patriarchal sex-based inequalities. 4.3 Represent the collective interests of member centres on rape crisis policy, front line service provision and funding. 4.4 Amplify the voices of women and girls, including female survivors of sexual violence by representing their rights, needs and experiences. Our Purposes and aims are underpinned by our foundational values, i.e. we are survivor-centred, collaborative, evidence-led, have a feminist analysis of male violence and uphold the human and sex-based rights of women and girls.
