Constitutional objectives

Promotion of religious and racial harmony, equality and mutual respect (Primary) To promote religious and racial harmony, equality, inclusion and mutual respect among people of different faiths, beliefs and communities in the United Kingdom, and to support responsible peaceful coexistence and community cohesion, in particular (but not exclusively) by: (a) facilitating structured dialogue, consultation and cooperation between faith and community leaders. (b) promoting shared understanding, constructive community relations and peaceful engagement. (c) advancing education and public awareness to reduce misunderstanding, prejudice and conflict. (d) producing and disseminating guidance, research and publications that support good practice in community cohesion and mutual respect. and (e) supporting inclusive participation in civic and cultural life in a manner consistent with the organisation's independence and political neutrality. Advancement of arts, culture and heritage (Secondary, prominent and integrated) To advance the arts, culture and heritage of the United Kingdom by promoting the understanding, appreciation, preservation and responsible stewardship of: (a) the UK's cultural heritage and traditions, recognising the diverse national cultures of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and their shared history. and (b) shared civic values that underpin harmonious community life, including (without limitation) democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of different faiths and beliefs, including (without limitation) through: (c) education, learning resources and public programmes. (d) public engagement, exhibitions, events, cultural initiatives and partnerships that strengthen cohesion and shared belonging. (e) research and the publication of reports, guidance and materials. (f) initiatives that support the responsible stewardship and celebration of heritage, traditions and cultural expression for public benefit. and (g) facilitating structured dialogue, consultation and cooperation between faith and community leaders.
