Constitutional objectives
1. The prevention or relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage, including disadvantage arising from unemployment, displacement, migration, conflict, disaster, digital exclusion or social isolation, in Scotland and elsewhere, by providing grants, goods, equipment, facilities, services, advice, education, training, access to learning and other practical assistance appropriate to the identified need. 2. The advancement of education in Scotland and elsewhere, particularly in relation to language and communication skills, digital skills, technology, artificial intelligence, employability, civic participation, responsible resource use and organisational capability, through structured learning programmes, conversation and communication programmes, workshops, mentoring, practical simulations, educational materials, and the undertaking of research of educational value and dissemination of its useful results for public benefit. 3. The advancement of citizenship and community development in Scotland and elsewhere, including the promotion of social inclusion, community participation, volunteering, the voluntary sector and the effectiveness and efficiency of charities, by identifying, assessing and evidencing individual, community and organisational needs. matching verified needs with appropriate resources, funding, expertise, goods, equipment, services, volunteers and delivery capacity. facilitating cooperation, networks and partnerships between individuals, communities, charities, voluntary organisations, community bodies, educational institutions, public bodies, donors, businesses and other appropriate organisations. providing grants, equipment, facilities, infrastructure, research, advice, training, technical assistance, organisational support and other resources to charities, voluntary organisations, community bodies and educational institutions, and to other bodies only where such support directly advances one or more of the organisation's charitable purposes and provides public benefit. supporting people to develop confidence, independence, language ability, employability, community connections and the capacity to participate in civic, social and professional life. and improving the effective, efficient and responsible use of charitable and community resources, including by reducing duplication, unsuitable provision, avoidable expenditure, unnecessary transport, wasted resources and activities which do not respond to evidenced needs. 4. The advancement of environmental protection or improvement in Scotland and elsewhere by promoting the sustainable management of resources and the reduction of waste and pollution, including through the repair, refurbishment, reuse, redistribution and responsible recycling of equipment and materials.
