Constitutional objectives

The purposes of the SCIO are:- The relief of poverty, particularly within disadvantaged communities. The advancement of health and the support of children and families experiencing hardship or disadvantage. The advancement of education, including education, training and skills development that improve life chances. The advancement of citizenship and community development, including the promotion of social wellbeing and community cohesion. The advancement of environmental protection or improvement, including conservation activities. The advancement of animal welfare, including the support of organisations that protect, rescue or care for animals. and to promote similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees think fit. The SCIO will focus primarily on communities local to Loch Lomond, including West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute, but may support wider charitable benefit where consistent with these purposes, primarily through (but not limited to) the provision of grants to individuals or organisations.
