Constitutional objectives

The organisation's purposes are: (a) To advance education for the public benefit, particularly in relation to food, nutrition, practical food skills, food heritage and culture, and sustainable food practices, through education and training, research and the dissemination of research findings, knowledge-sharing, community learning, food-growing activities, demonstrations, exhibitions, food fairs, showcases, events and other educational activities which increase knowledge, skills and understanding. (b) To advance physical and mental health and wellbeing for the public benefit, particularly by improving knowledge of and access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food, promoting healthy eating and practical food skills, addressing food insecurity and barriers to healthy food, reducing social isolation and loneliness, promoting positive mental wellbeing, and strengthening community connection through community food initiatives, cooking and food-growing activities, shared meals, food fairs, events and other activities connected with food, health and wellbeing.
