Social audits have been carried out at the majority of our subsidiaries. These audits entail staff interviews which are conducted by independent external auditors and focus on working conditions.

Demonstrated progress

Our continued efforts to drive out further modern slavery, enforced labour and unethical working practices within our operations and those of our supply chain include: 1. Training – we are expanding our induction and employee training programmes. 2. Auditing – Rolling out our third party social audit scheme for suppliers. 3. Review – policies are kept under review and updated where necessary to reflect developments in our processes designed to tackle modern slavery and forced labour.

• Mitigation: Our Ethical Sourcing Requirements aim to further elaborate on the social audit requirements towards our suppliers which are mentioned in our Supplier Code of Conduct, focusing on the scope of the supplier social audits, accepted audit schemes & results. We allocate audits based on the risk level of the country in which a supplier facility is located so we can drive the biggest impact in our supply chain.

• Mitigation: Ontex is committed to responsible raw material procurement by aligning itself with trusted 3rd Party certifications such as PEFC/FSC for materials derived from wood, GOTS for cotton and REDcert for other feedstocks.
• Risk: Human trafficking and debt slavery.
• Mitigation: Over the past years, our use of certified raw materials has grown to 83% in 2021, emphasising Ontex's commitment to eliminating forced labour.
