• Mitigation: Aldi UK and Ireland has a modern slavery resource pack program. The resource pack is distributed to our tier 1 construction and logistics suppliers on an annual basis and includes guidance on modern slavery mitigation, incident management, grievance mechanisms and reporting processes. It also requires these suppliers to assess their sites and supply chains for risks of modern slavery and implement actions to resolve any issues found.

• Mitigation: We are a member of the Seasonal Workers Scheme Taskforce, which works to safeguard the rights of seasonal workers in UK horticulture. In 2025, the Taskforce focused on three priority areas: worker education and grievance mechanisms; responsible recruitment and on-farm practices; and the feasibility of implementing the Employer Pays Principle, which aims to eliminate worker-paid recruitment fees.

• Mitigation: Recognising construction as a key risk area, we assessed three major maintenance suppliers with the Slave-free Alliance, covering both skilled and lower-skilled roles. Reviews of policies, systems and practices identified common gaps, including limited whistleblowing access, lack of worker-facing modern slavery policies, and low awareness. We then worked with suppliers to deliver targeted improvements, including tailored training, better policy access, and clearer reporting channels.
