We conduct a pulse survey annually to understand what is happening within our own organisation. We also conduct targeted human rights due diligence as part of our salient rights assessment.

Demonstrated progress

AstraZeneca continues to enhance our policies and governance, including the introduction of a new Global Human Rights Standard, while optimising our third‑party due diligence and monitoring. We are also expanding training and supplier engagement, and progressing targeted initiatives to gain deeper insight into salient human rights risks. Supplier performance improvements are tracked year on year through EcoVadis.

• Mitigation: We are reviewing practices across the construction project lifecycle to better understand any potential gaps in our human rights due diligence and risk mitigations. We are also conducting a review of a number of third parties on one of our construction sites to better understand their maturity and identify any gaps in policies and processes so we can better support with capability building.
• Risk: Logistics, warehousing and distribution including markets where we operate solely on a distributor model and have no established legal entities.

• Mitigation: We monitor risk indicators through ongoing screening and engagement, and will deepen our engagement with the logistics sector from 2026 to strengthen understanding and mitigation of modern slavery risks. We are working to better understand what gaps in awareness exist in this area of the business and will roll out training sessions tailored to address these.
• Risk: Indirect supply chains with multi tier manufacturing e.g. consumables, electronics, devices, with limited visibility beyond tier 1.

• Mitigation: We assess tier‑1 suppliers through 3PRM and strengthen requirements via our Third‑Party Code of Conduct and contract terms. We use audits, corrective action plans and supplier engagement to address findings, and leverage EcoVadis to identify and improve supplier performance. We have launched a human rights risk review to assess mitigations and risk assessments across the lifecycle of a medical device, delivering recommendations in 2026.
