Retention circumstances

Retention clauses are normally, but not limited to, higher value construction contracts. However the use of retention clauses will depend on the construction work being undertaken.

Retention release

The release of retention monies will usually be undertaken in conjunction with the supplier. This involves a review of the completed work to identify if any defects have arisen that require to be remedied before the retention will be released.

Retention release stages

The release of retention monies will be contract specific with a percentage released on completion of the contract and then the remaining balance released within 12 months.

Reported terms and dispute process
  1. Standard payment terms

It is the Group's policy to agree appropriate terms of payment with suppliers for each transaction or series of transactions, and to abide by those terms based on the timely submission of satisfactory invoices. The Company normally settled trade payables on 45 days terms, however variations to these terms do exist based on agreements with certain suppliers.

  2. Dispute resolution process

The Company is committed to dealing with its suppliers in a fair, honest and professional manner whilst seeking best value for the business. We seek to resolve queries as quickly as possible to everyone's satisfaction prior to payment being made. In the event that a dispute cannot be resolved by our Accounts Payable team, it would escalate in the first instance to the relevant Head of Department to seek a resolution.

Demonstrated progress

Reported risks and mitigations

  • Risk: Facilities services: the Group engages with agencies to deliver cleaning and security functions, which inherently carries a risk given the Group is not employing those individuals directly.
  • Area: Within your supply chains
  • Tier: Tier 1 suppliers
  • Group: Women Migrants Refugees
  • Location: United Kingdom
  • Mitigation: • We stipulate all suppliers must have a policy or Code of Conduct relating to Modern Slavery or agree to adhere to ours; • We use an external supplier risk assessment platform to assist with risk profiling for new and existing suppliers; • For suppliers who employ non-UK employees we ask for citizenship rights/visas where applicable and request additional assurances that they are monitoring for signs of human rights abuses.
  • Risk: Quayside services: the Group procures stevedoring and other quayside services across its ports with some services being provided by agencies.
  • Group: Migrants
  • Mitigation: • For suppliers who employ non-UK employees we ask for citizenship rights/visas where applicable and request additional assurances that they are monitoring for signs of human rights abuses; •We stipulate that all suppliers must have a policy or Code of Conduct relating to Modern Slavery or agree to adhere to ours; • Workers can raise concerns directly to us.
  • Risk: Vessel crews: vessels originating from higher risk jurisdictions may have crew members who are forced to work in conditions which would constitute modern slavery under the Act.
  • Area: Vessel crews - these are not always part of our supply chains but can be part of our value chains and can originate from high risk jurisdictions. Our own vessel crews would not pose a risk.
  • Group: Migrants Refugees
  • Location: China Philippines
  • Mitigation: Our security teams and port police can provide support and checks, and there are opportunities for crews to be supported through 'on port' welfare organisations. Providing a list of countries is less practical, although we can endeavour to provide this in future. Vessel and crew members may originate from numerous countries across the globe.

PSC records are company-filed public-register information. When the exact same displayed individual name occurs at multiple companies, BritDB offers a non-indexed cross-reference page. It is a name match only, not proof that the records describe the same person. Service addresses and partial dates of birth are deliberately omitted.

09 Charity register

Charity Commission links

Snapshot 25 August 2026
CCEW

No exact company-number link in this snapshot

The Charity Commission extract did not explicitly associate this Companies House number with a charity. BritDB does not use a name-only match to fill the gap.

i

This company-level check covers the Charity Commission for England and Wales. Links are accepted only when the official extract supplies this exact company registration number. Scottish charities now have separate OSCR profiles, but OSCR’s bulk fields do not provide a Companies House number, so BritDB does not infer a company link.

CCNI

No unambiguous company-number link found

The CCNI source number did not resolve uniquely to this Companies House record. BritDB did not use a name or address match.

CCNI publishes company numbers without a jurisdiction prefix. BritDB links only when the plausible padded UK and NI candidates resolve to exactly one Companies House company.

The imported UK Sanctions List did not supply this Companies House number as a UK-linked business identifier. BritDB did not attempt a name-only match.

No exact link is not sanctions clearance. UK restrictions can apply through ownership or control even where an entity is not separately named. Always use the current official list and obtain appropriate advice for a legally significant decision.
