• Mitigation: Evaluating water stewardship in wet processing sites through our Cleaner In Production programme focusing on water withdrawals and discharges alongside recycling of waste water and sustainable water stewardship practices in manufacturing. Grading each site and removing those sites that did not meet the minimum standards required by our programme.

• Mitigation: Reducing our Tier 1 supply base has provided economic security for our factories, this has enabled us to promote freedom of association in country and we aim to work to solutions where different challenges occur due to local laws. Through collaboration with factory management we aim to implement workable solutions to afford workers enhanced empowerment through cohesive policies and training.
• Risk: Cotton Farming Working with Better Cotton to move to traceability of physical cotton at farm level. Transparency affords workers more protection, improved working conditions and accountability.

• Mitigation: Transitioning to traceability of physical cotton in the supply chain at farm level will ensure better visibility of working conditions, affording better enforcement of worker rights. Many farm workers are migrant communities which carries higher risk of exploitation with little or no monitoring. Through the Better Cotton Programme we will aim to have full visibility at farm level and allow checks to be carried out. The programme supports sustainable practices promoting better economic returns.
