Demonstrated progress

Care2Victory demonstrates progress in addressing modern slavery risks through ethical recruitment, staff training, regular welfare checks, supervision and monitoring of working hours. Recruitment agencies and employment practices are reviewed regularly. Concerns are recorded, investigated and acted upon, with the Modern Slavery Statement and risk assessment reviewed annually to support continuous improvement.

• Mitigation: Operate transparent and ethical recruitment processes. Workers will not be charged recruitment fees by the organisation. Employment contracts, salary, working hours, duties and conditions will be clearly explained before employment begins. Right-to-work checks will be completed appropriately, and original passports or personal documents will not be retained. Sponsored workers will be informed of their employment rights and how to raise concerns without fear of retaliation.
• Risk: Excessive working hours and dependency on employer Domiciliary care workers, live-in carers, sponsored workers and staff working additional shifts.
• Mitigation: Staff rotas and working hours will be monitored to prevent excessive hours and ensure adequate rest periods. Workers will not be pressured to accept additional shifts. Regular supervision, spot checks and welfare discussions will be used to identify signs of fatigue, coercion or exploitation. Live-in and night workers will have clearly defined working and rest arrangements. Any concerns identified will be investigated promptly by management.

• Mitigation: Undertake appropriate due diligence on recruitment agencies and other labour suppliers. Staff will be encouraged to report concerns about recruitment agents, accommodation, transport arrangements, deductions from wages or anyone controlling their finances or documents. Where exploitation or trafficking is suspected, the organisation will follow its safeguarding and modern slavery procedures and report concerns to the appropriate authorities.
