Description
The proposed scheme replaces the existing 4 way traffic signal at the junction of the Welton Road/Water Lane(A63 slip road link)/Welton Low Road with a 3 way signalised roundabout, with Welton Low Road becoming a priority junction. It includes pedestrian and cycle improvements largely to improve the route to South Hunsley School to and from Brough. The existing junction is elevated and the new roundabout is elevated on an embankment to match the existing levels. The existing junction creates congestion at peak hours with large queues forming mostly from commuter traffic to Hull in the am peak and from Hull in the pm peak, the proposals are expected to reduce this queuing.
