The Coal Authority is funded by grant in aid from the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) In Q4 of 2023 a Open Competitive Bidding exercise was completed to retender the Ground Investigation Framework which expired in February 2024 The Coal Authority required the provision of Ground investigation services which includes general items, boreholes, rotary drilling, pits and trenches, sampling, in-situ testing, geophysical testing, instrumentation and monitoring, laboratory testing, chemical testing for contaminated ground and attendance at framework meetings with the Client.
