Description
The objective of the programme is to modernise HMRC's hosting landscape by transitioning services from three managed data centres to secure, scalable public cloud platforms. The scope of migration includes all services currently reliant on data centre infrastructure, recognising that other programmes may progress elements of this transition earlier. Where this occurs, scope will be adjusted accordingly to avoid duplication. This procurement establishes the core delivery mechanism for this transformation, enabling both the migration and ongoing service hosting in a modern cloud environment. The outline migration approach has been refined through negotiation and final tender stages to ensure it delivers an efficient, controlled transition, balancing cost, risk and timescales while maintaining service continuity. The selected solution meets HMRC's requirements for a resilient, future-ready platform, supporting a structured move away from legacy infrastructure toward flexible, consumption-based services.
