Description

Southend-on-Sea City Council is preparing a local plan for its area, to cover the period for the next 15 to 20 years. Southend-on-Sea City Council and Rochford District Council jointly commissioned Land Use Consultants to undertake a Green Belt study, which was completed in 2024. A further Southend only Green Belt Study update was completed in 2024. However, as this work predates the revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published in December 2024 and updated national Planning Practice Guidance (PPG) published in February 2025, it is necessary to undertake a further assessment of Green Belt land in accordance with the revised policy framework and guidance, to inform the plan making process. Quotes are sought from suitably qualified consultants with recent experience of undertaking green belt studies.
