Description

The course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the principles of hydrology and hydraulics and their application to support flood risk management - in river and coastal environments. It’s a vital course for those involved in river, tidal and coastal flood risk and introduces key technical aspects including: hydrometric analysis; estimation of flood flows; fluvial hydraulics; flow resistance and roughness; conveyance; river flow processes; hydraulic structures; modelling, natural flood management, sustainable urban drainage and scheme assessments.
