Description
Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) currently use Crash Recovery System, with the licencing period expiring on 9th April 2026. As this is a vital software application, the previous business case outlines the need to renew cover for the period beginning 10th April 2026, for a two year period, to 9th April 2028, with possible extension for 2 x 1 years?? The Crash Recovery System gives the first responder access to an extensive database containing all vehicles, buses and trucks equipped with at least one airbag (EU). This safety critical information assists with the extraction of persons from vehicles quickly and safely and provides vital information in the event of a vehicle fire. The latest technology has been added (hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles, hydrogen vehicles, the latest airbag technology and steel reinforcement types). NIFRS has used the Crash Recovery System (CRS) since February 2010 when 3tc MODAS Professional (Mobile Data System) was procured. Crash Recovery Licencing enables the display of vehicle information on each fire appliance via Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs).
