Description
With statutory obligations emerging through the Spatial Development Strategy, Heat Network Zoning, and the Regional Energy Strategic Plans (RESPs), a robust LAEP is essential to ensure Surrey can meet these requirements and deliver a resilient, future‑proofed clean energy system that supports critical infrastructure, housing growth, economic priorities, and wider community benefit. Surrey requires completion of at least Stages 1-4 of the Energy Systems Catapult methodology ahead of Q1 2027. This is critical to provide county‑wide evidence for elements such as the "Nations & Regions Context," enabling Surrey to effectively influence regional planning and secure prioritised grid investment from the DNOs. The Unitary Authorities may then elect to complete Stages 5-7 at a later date, enabling them to capture local‑level specifics, reflect community priorities, and incorporate further input from the SDS, NESO and DESNZ into the subsequent stage. SCC is very interested to hear from suppliers regarding this expression of interest to better inform budget requirements and timelines to complete the Surrey County wide LAEP (Stages 1-4)
