Description
Lincolnshire County Council has the responsibility to provide appropriate and robust arrangements for the collection and return of bodies whose deaths are referred by the Coroner for investigation. Greater Lincolnshire Coroner's Service aspires to deliver to the residents of Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North-East Lincolnshire a professional, dignified and timely service for all deceased referred to the Coroner. Paramount to achieving this is the importance of successfully commissioning partners to support the smooth running of the service, who will deliver their service with empathy, professionalism and expedience. This contract is particularly delicate in that any arrangements must recognise the sensitive and distressing situations involving the removal of the deceased. The deceased must be removed using suitable equipment and appropriate manual handling techniques ensuring no further damage to the body occurs or distress to relatives and bystanders.
