Description

The ‘mechanics’ of board work (governance, schemes of delegation, structure, constitution of committees and so on), are not the ‘rate-determining step’ in the effectiveness of the board. Structure, therefore, will not be the primary focus of our board development, although it may be explored lightly through discovery and included in feedback. The process and practice of the board: behaviours (enhancing scrutiny and assurance alongside collective responsibility and NED support in a unitary board), relationships (building the board as an effective pseudo-team) and board leadership of the trust (including developing strategy and leading/modelling a high-performance organisational culture).
