Description
The proposed commission is required to secure a consistent, robust and locally specific source of economic intelligence to support the Council’s economic strategy, inward investment activity, employer engagement and evidence-based decision making. The Business Insight Programme will deliver structured engagement with hundreds of Doncaster businesses annually, providing both quantitative survey data and qualitative intelligence from senior business leaders. This intelligence underpins strategic policy development, enables early identification of emerging risks and opportunities within the local economy, and supports proactive responses to business confidence, investment intentions, skills challenges and sector specific pressures. Without this programme, the Council would lack a coherent and longitudinal evidence base tailored specifically to Doncaster’s business community.
