Description
The overall aim of the project is to put in place a fit for purpose, improved accessibility and value for money short breaks service which is suitable for the needs of children and young people and their families. Short Breaks are designed to: • Support CYP with SEND to access meaningful activities, develop independence and social connections • Provide carers with essential, planned respite • Offer a mix of community based and specialist provision across daytime, evening, weekend and overnight settings. It is currently proposed that there will be a 5-year delivery timeline with service delivery starting on 1st April 2028, and the initial term ending on 31st March 2033. Extension options are possible. It is proposed that the indicative cost of the service will be £4 million per annum.
