Upgrade of Switchgear & LV Distribution Network

Description

A recent survey and subsequent high level electrical distribution strategy concerning operationally restricted (OR) low voltage (LV) switchgear across the Dounreay Site has been developed. The scope of works encompasses primary supply to 23 facilities containing the OR assets and a further two cost estimates for common containment of electrical supplies within the FCA perimeter and replacement of other concern legacy switchboards. From a timescale perspective all assets require replacement, but some have a higher priority and criticality than others based on safety, condition and vulnerability within the LV electrical network. Similarly, due to co-dependency of LV electrical supply, some will be grouped and replaced as a common single phased project. Nine of these outputs are phased for proposed completion in the next 5 years and range between £50k to £1.2M in value based on initial cost estimation. Details of Market Engagement to follow
