Description
The provision in which Safe Families provide is bespoke packages of support for 30 selected families, 15 open to Children's Social Care & 15 open to Stronger Families delivered through a network of volunteers providing a community solution for families in crisis or in need of support. Safe Families does not provide private fostering or adoption, they provide host family volunteers who offer short periods of respite when children cannot stay at home, described by themselves as in much the same way as a friend or relative might step in when a family is experiencing difficulties The value brought by the Safe Families model is also based on the social capital brought to communities through the volunteer model that Safe Families utilises; improving local connectivity, social organisation and ownership, along with the evidence that people can become more independent.
