Description
The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board requires the procurement of a contractor to provide an emergency courier service for the transportation of prescriptions and prescribed medications between Out of Hours (OOH) bases, community pharmacies and patients’ homes across the Health Board area. The service supports the Health Board’s out of hours palliative care medicines supply arrangements, ensuring that patients requiring urgent end-of-life medication can access treatment promptly and remain in their preferred place of care wherever possible. The appointed provider will be responsible for • Collecting prescriptions from patients’ homes or Health Board Out of Hours bases • Liaising with the on-call pharmacist and transporting prescriptions to the designated community pharmacy • Waiting for prescriptions to be dispensed • Delivering dispensed medications directly to patients’ homes in a timely manner.
