Provision of Additional Consultancy Services to Support the Delivery of a Door Access and CCTV Upgrade Scheme at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

Description

NWSSP on behalf of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board has awarded for the provision of additional consultancy services to support the delivery of a door access and CCTV upgrade scheme at Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. The requirement includes the production of coordination drawings (electrical, IT/data and fire alarm), stakeholder coordination and programme delivery meetings, integration with the appointed installation contractor, and asbestos coordination activities . The services are being directly awarded to the existing supplier as additional requirements have arisen during delivery due to the complexity of the site, which could not have been reasonably foreseen at the outset. A change of supplier would result in incompatibility with existing works, duplication of effort, loss of site-specific knowledge, and delays to delivery. Continuation with the existing supplier is therefore justified on the basis that a change would lead to technical and operational difficulties and increased cost and risk to the contracting authority.
