Description

Cyson Cymru, on behalf of Newport City Council (NCC), is seeking Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) proposals for the turnkey design, installation, and commissioning of the solar farm and a DC coupled battery with a 400V grid connection at the Newport City Council’s recycling centre depot in Newport, to form a fully compliant and working installation. It is anticipated that the EPC contract will be awarded in 2026, and the design and construction will be undertaken in 2026/7. The Contractor will be responsible for the supply, installation, and maintenance of a solar photovoltaic and battery system (the ‘Works’) up to 1.1MWp in gross PV capacity with a 2MWh DC battery energy storage system (BESS) on the land shown in Appendix 19.3 of the Specification, and located at grid reference ST306857.
