Description
Transport for Wales (TfW) intends to award a contract directly to Team Tech for the provision of the GoldSTAR Season Ticket Database, a specialist system used to manage season ticket customer records, products, travel entitlements and associated lifecycle activities across the TfW rail network. The system supports a range of critical operational functions, including customer service, retail operations, business processes and management reporting. The proposed contract will be awarded for an initial term of four years, with options to extend for up to a further two years (1+1 years). GoldSTAR has been identified as a unique and established solution that is fully integrated within TfW's existing ticketing and rail retail environment. The direct award is to ensure continuity of service, maintain interoperability with the wider rail retail ecosystem. It will also mitigate the operational, financial and implementation risks that could arise from migration to an alternative solution, including potential service disruption, loss of functionality and additional transition costs.
