The Management and Hire of Metered Water Standpipes -: The Service: To provide and manage the metered standpipe hire process to Yorkshire Water customers • Buy, stock, advertise and supply the hire of metered standpipe use in the Yorkshire region. • Have the ability to maintain, refurbish, clean and disinfect returned standpipes ready for re-issue. • Gather consumption details and invoice applicants for the volume of water used and the hire charge. • Support the delivery of our Performance Commitments in the area of Water Quality, Discolouration Contacts & Interruptions to Supply. • Train, coach and support the correct use of standpipes and associated network operation to support Yorkshire Waters "Calm Networks" initiative (aimed at preventing surges and damage to the distribution network). • Manage and police illegal network interventions by helping the Client prosecute illegal users. • Provide management data as appropriate. (For clarity this service does not apply to Yorkshire Water and Service Partner operatives who utilise standpipes in connection with their roles in maintaining our water and waste networks).
