Description
This service will focus on delivery for men with substance misuse needs leaving custody. Working with our partner, Emerging futures and a dedicated psychology team, it aims to provide • Dedicated rehabilitation-focused housing for prison leavers • Intensive clinical psychology support • Holistic lifestyle and tenancy support • A Rehabilitation Coach network (130 trained over year) that supports men leaving prison and creates employment pathways for men with lived experience. This service will work with men to connect them with resources in the community, whether this is entering one of our Rehabilitation Through Resettlement houses or acting as a named contact to coordinate housing pathways for other prison leavers with substance misuse issues (this may include other pathways, e.g. benefits). The service will provide comprehensive assessments of need and support required through their period of time in custody through to release and community reintegration. It will also connect service users to local community (prosocial activities, community groups, drop-ins, GP, holistic support, etc.) – with the goal of reintegration. The service aim is to identify and engage with those service users leaving custody who are engaged in a cycle of reoffending due to a number of unmet needs. The service will look to address immediate needs, working with partners within the prison and the wider community. Work will be undertaken in a trauma informed way and in collaboration with service users and relevant partners in order to promote and empower social integration.
