Description
A blended highway scheme providing the capacity for growth outlined in SCC’s draft Local Plan and Homes England’s ambitions. Also provides significant resilience improvements to improve capacity and journey time reliability on a blue light emergency route and an MRN road. It includes LTN1/20-compliant segregated cycle links which connect with the Kelham Island TCF scheme, and enhances access to the Shalesmoor Tram Stop, camera-enforcement of bus lanes and new signal infrastructure - seamlessly integrated into a remodelled T-junction. It incorporates high-quality planting and sustainable urban drainage, delivering benefits for biodiversity and resilient flood protection in an attractive gateway into the city.
