- Care home resident 86, was eating lunch in the communal dining room whilst staff supervised nearby. A carer was assisting another resident when they noticed that his lips were turning blue and he was choking, at which point the alarm was raised. The care home staff nurse attempted abdominal thrust manoeuvres but was unsuccessful in clearing the blockage. Emergency services were contacted and an ambulance arrived, at which point hewas taken to Borders General Hospital.
